Arrive into Oaxaca City ideally in the early afternoon (Airport code OAX). Please take a taxi to the Ofrenda Guest House - C. de Manuel García Vigil 615, RUTA INDEPENDENCIA, Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez.
We will enjoy a welcome dinner that evening in the Ofrenda Courtyard around 5PM.
July 26
After breakfast, we will head to Santiago Matatlán (9AM) where we will spend the day with the Jiménez Family of Del Amigo and Fidencio. Enrique & his daughters will take us to the agave field & host a full tasting (to include special barrel aged mezcals) & tour of the palenque. After lunch, we will check in to Casa Lyobaa in Mitla. We will share a special meal that evening prepared by a local chef. Casa Lyobaa is a restful guest house with a pool & temezcal, a traditional sauna that can be booked in advance at guest's expense.
July 27
We will have breakfast at 8:30 and then head to Guardianes del Mezcal. We will spend the day with Don Valentin, Asis Cortes & family where we will tour the palenque & agave fields. We will taste through expressions of Dixeebe, Origen Raíz, Ron Don Chingón as well as limited release glass rested mezcals. After lunch with the Cortes family, we will take a short trip to visit Leoncio Santiago & Doña Octavia Hernández & family - the husband and wife team behind Dianzu. We will tour the palenque and enjoy dinner along with a mezcal tasting.
July 28
Check out of Casa Lyobaa after breakfast & head back to the Ofrenda Guest house in Oaxaca City. Spend the afternoon resting, exploring Oaxaca City & enjoy lunch on your own. We will come together for a final dinner together that evening in the Ofrenda Courtyard.around 5pm.
July 29
Travel out. Guests responsible for their own transport to the airport.
