Esteban Morales of La Venenosa & La Higuera brings us Alto Valle Ron. For over 15 years, Esteban has traversed the state of Jalisco, crossing many times through Valles de Jalisco, where sugarcane thrives in the volcanic, mineral-rich soil. The harvest season for sugarcane is a short four months so the decision was made to source piloncillo from local families ensuring production throughout the year. Alto Valle was born, with its name reflecting the significance of altitude and soil in the sugarcane’s growth. Piloncillo retains the character of the sugarcane, resulting in a vibrant, fresh, light-bodied rum with notes of pineapple, citrus, wet earth, and a hint of spice on the finish. A new distillery is in the works where we can meet the families and enjoy a daiquiri along the way on the infamous Jalisco road trips!
